About 3 Months Japan
Why does this blog project exist?
Hello and welcome to my little project 3 Months Japan!
You are welcome to call me Patty (パーッティ). Ever since I was a child, I dreamed (as so many do) of being able to fly to Japan one day. In elementary school, I was given my first manga (Japanese comic) as a gift and began to read more and more through the works published at the time. I also learned English at school, but especially by reading subtitles of Japanese animation series.
Why Japan?
You probably expect me to say something about the unique Japanese fusion of tradition and modernity or that I love learning about new cultures. That's not entirely false, but it's not my only reason. Because not only anime and manga or temples next to modern skyscrapers fascinated me, the language began to excite me as well. I took my first Japanese language course when I was 10 years old - and forgot just about everything. Since I have a job with fixed hours, I've been trying to gradually teach myself characters and grammar again. In 2018, one of my biggest dreams finally came true with a trip to Tokyo! After that, I couldn't let go of the idea of traveling through Japan for several months, to improve my Japanese skills and to be able to see more of everyday life.
With my husband I dare the adventure in 2023 to live, travel and
immerse myself in everyday life in Japan for nearly 3 months.
The Route
To make it as easy as possible, we will visit the usual cities: Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Once we are on site, we will spontaneously consider looking at other cities. In order to really immerse ourselves in life, we want to avoid having to move to other locations often.
Why This Blog?
Since money unfortunately does not fall from the sky and we will neither give up our apartment in Germany, nor quit our jobs just like that or put all our savings into this one journey, we will try to experience as much as possible for a reasonable budget. On social media, you often see travel bloggers who stay in incredibly beautiful ryokan incl. private onsen, eat daily in the most delicious restaurants, travel with the Shinkansen throughout Japan and let their soul relax. This costs quite a bit of money and not every person can afford such a trip.
Are you interested in what you can experience in the land of the rising sun? Your travel budget might be a little lower? Then I would be happy if I can inspire you and if you would accompany us in the next few months!
